  • 2 cups of apple juice,
  • 3 cinnamon sticks,

  • 1 vanilla pod,
  • 3/4 cup honey or sugar,
  • 1/2 cup brandy or port.

Directions;

Step 1: Combine all of the ingredients, excluding wine and liquor, in a large pot.

Step 2: Gently simmer the ingredients on low to medium heat for 15-20 minutes stirring until the honey or sugar has dissolved.

Step 3: Reduce heat to low and add wine and liquor. Cook gently on a low heat for a further 5-10 minutes until warm. Do not boil as this removes the alcohol.

Once made, it can be kept warm in a slow cooker if catering for a crowd.

Want an alcohol free version? Simply add 2 cups of grape juice.

A quick and easy homemade, aromatic beverage to get you into the mid-winter Christmas spirit. Enjoy!
